Addressing Youth Homelessness in St. Louis, MO - Paper

This paper examines the rising youth homelessness crisis in St. Louis, Missouri, with a focus on structural causes, service gaps, and shelter capacity. Using local data from the Built for Zero Dashboard, state and national policy research, and case studies of youth-serving organizations, the paper analyzes demographic trends, risk factors, and long-term consequences of youth homelessness. It concludes with evidence-based policy recommendations centered on expanding youth shelter infrastructure and implementing comprehensive, trauma-informed supportive services.
